Rainer Andreesen is a gay Canadian figurative painter, former fashion model, and occasional actor, who studied art and design in an intensive four-year program at Capilano College in Vancouver. He modeled for Armani and Gucci before and during his relationship with actor Victor Garber, which began around 1999; the two married in Tofino, Canada, in October 2015 after roughly sixteen years together. His acting credits are sparse -- a self-modeling appearance in the documentary Pretty Boys (2002) and the role of Pilot in the short film Salvage (2015) -- since painting has remained his primary creative focus, and Garber has spoken warmly of displaying Andreesen's oil paintings in their home.
