Jordan Tannahill is a gay Canadian playwright, director, and author whose work across theatre, fiction, and screen consistently interrogates queer identity, youth, and political life. His debut collection Age of Minority: Three Solo Plays (2013) -- three monologues exploring queer and gender non-conforming experience -- won the Governor General's Literary Award for English-language drama, one of Canada's highest literary honours. His play Late Company (2014), a tense domestic drama about two couples confronting each other in the aftermath of a tragedy involving their sons, received international productions including London's West End. His 2016 double bill Botticelli in the Fire and Sunday in Sodom -- the first a queer reimagining of events in Renaissance Florence -- won a second Governor General's Award. He co-founded Videofag (2012-2016), an influential queer and avant-garde arts space in Toronto's Kensington Market that served as an incubator for a generation of queer artists. His short films "Swim" (2011) and "Father" (2014) have screened at international festivals including Tribeca and Venice. His 2021 novel The Listeners was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. He married actor Brandon Flynn in New York City on October 12, 2024.
