Ilana Glazer

Ilana Glazer is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director who is openly queer and nonbinary, using she/they pronouns, and has become a major voice in contemporary LGBTQ+ culture. Rising to prominence as the co-creator and star of the acclaimed comedy series Broad City (2014), Glazer helped redefine queer, feminist, and millennial storytelling on television through her partnership with Abbi Jacobson. She has since expanded her creative range with films such as the ensemble comedy Rough Night (2017), in which she played an out lesbian friend, the horror satire False Positive (2021), and the comedy Babes (2024), which she also co-wrote. Glazer's stand-up specials The Planet Is Burning (2020) and Human Magic (2024) further showcase her politically sharp, queer-centered comedic voice. In 2024, she publicly discussed how pregnancy clarified her nonbinary identity, deepening her role as an advocate for inclusive understandings of gender and parenthood. A Tony Award-winning producer of A Strange Loop (2022), the musical about a queer Black writer that won the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony for Best Musical, Glazer continues to shape queer cultural discourse through her boundary-pushing work across comedy, film, and theater.
