Abbi Jacobson is a lesbian comedian, writer, actress, and producer best known for co-creating and starring in Comedy Central's "Broad City" (2014β2019) alongside Ilana Glazer β a series celebrated as one of the defining queer comedies of the 2010s, with a deeply queer sensibility even before its creators were publicly out. Jacobson came out as a lesbian gradually through her public life and relationships, and has spoken about how "Broad City" gave her language and community to understand her own identity. She went on to write, create, and executive produce Amazon's "A League of Their Own" (2022), a groundbreaking queer reimagining of the classic film that centered lesbian and bisexual women's stories in the 1940s. The series was praised as one of the most joyful and emotionally resonant queer narratives in recent memory. Off screen, Jacobson is engaged to actress Jodi Balfour, her co-star and fellow out queer woman in Hollywood.
