Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller is an American actor known for Michael Scofield -- the tattooed structural engineer who gets himself imprisoned to break his brother out of death row -- in Prison Break (2005) and for Leonard Snart / Captain Cold in The Flash (2014) and Legends of Tomorrow (2016). He came out as gay in August 2013 via an open letter to the St. Petersburg International Film Festival declining to attend, citing Russia's anti-gay laws: "As a gay man, I must decline" -- a principled political act that brought significant attention to LGBTQ+ rights in Putin's Russia and marked his first public confirmation of his sexuality. He later wrote candidly about multiple suicide attempts and about the role his hidden identity played in his mental health struggles. In 2021 he announced he would no longer play straight characters.
