Wendy Crewson is a Canadian actress, born May 9, 1956, who broke through in the 1991 drama The Doctor and went on to Hollywood roles in Air Force One (1997), The Santa Clause (1994) and its sequels, What Lies Beneath (2000) opposite Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer, and Room (2015), alongside independent films including the lesbian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate (1999). She has won six Gemini Awards and two Canadian Screen Awards across an extensive Canadian television career. She was previously married to a man and has two children, and came out publicly as gay in a December 2014 interview on the CTV talk show The Social, revealing she had come out to her family several years earlier. Her disclosure was received warmly in Canada, and she has continued a successful career in film and television since.
