Taylor Negron was an American actor, comedian, and painter known for Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), The Last Boy Scout (1991), and Angels in the Outfield (1994), alongside numerous sitcom guest appearances on shows including Seinfeld and Friends. He made his stand-up debut at Los Angeles's Comedy Store in 1977, coming up alongside contemporaries including Robin Williams and Sam Kinison, and briefly studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute before returning to full-time performing; he continued to paint throughout his life, later exhibiting his artwork in solo shows around Los Angeles. He was openly gay and a beloved figure in the Los Angeles comedy and arts community, known for his gentle wit, his love of poetry and painting, and his warmth toward fellow performers. He died of liver cancer on January 10, 2015, at age 57, after a seven-year battle with the disease. Friends and collaborators remembered him as one of the truly original voices of the Los Angeles comedy scene.
