Tatum O'Neal is an American actress known for Paper Moon (1973), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 10 -- the youngest competitive Oscar winner in history -- and for The Bad News Bears (1976). In her memoir A Paper Life (2004), she wrote candidly about her turbulent relationships with her parents and her marriage to tennis player John McEnroe, and in a 2015 interview she said she had begun dating women while declining to label her sexuality as gay, bisexual, or straight, telling an interviewer, "I'm not one or the other." Her life has been marked by significant public difficulties related to family conflict, addiction, and personal loss, which she has written and spoken about candidly.
