T. R. Knight

T.R. Knight is an American actor known for George O'Malley — the earnest, emotionally vulnerable surgical intern — on Grey's Anatomy (ABC, 2005–2009). He came out as gay in 2006 following a highly publicized incident in which co-star Isaiah Washington used a homophobic slur directed at Knight on set; Washington's denial and the subsequent controversy made Knight's coming out one of the most-discussed in television that year. Knight received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his work on the show. He has appeared in The Normal Heart (HBO, 2014) and various other projects since.
