Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry is a British actor, comedian, writer, presenter, and activist who has been one of the most prominent openly gay public figures in the UK for decades. He is known for Jeeves and Wooster (ITV, 1990–1993), Blackadder (BBC), QI (BBC, 2003–2016), Wilde (1997, playing Oscar Wilde), V for Vendetta (2005), the Harry Potter audiobooks (UK narrator), and dozens of other stage and screen appearances. He came out as gay in his autobiography Moab Is My Washpot (1997) and has written and spoken extensively about his homosexuality, his bipolar disorder, and his suicide attempts. He married comedian Elliott Spencer in 2015. Fry is one of the most articulate advocates for LGBTQ+ rights in the English-speaking world.
