Stacie Passon is an American lesbian filmmaker known for Concussion (2013), which premiered at Sundance and won the Teddy Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival, starring Robin Weigert as a suburban lesbian housewife who begins working as a sex worker -- a film praised for its frank, non-judgmental engagement with female sexuality and desire. Passon drew on personal experience in making the film and has spoken about the difficulties of financing a lesbian-centered independent film about adult themes. She later directed the film adaptation of Shirley Jackson's novel We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2018) and has worked extensively in television, directing episodes of Transparent (2014), Dickinson (2019), and Billions (2016).
