Scott Thompson is a Canadian comedian and actor who was one of the five members of The Kids in the Hall (1988), the groundbreaking sketch comedy troupe in which he regularly played openly gay characters -- most iconically Buddy Cole, a flamboyantly gay raconteur -- making him one of the first openly gay performers to be a regular cast member of a mainstream comedy series. He has been out for his entire career and has spoken about the queer sensibility that infused The Kids in the Hall's comedy. He later played Jimmy Price, an FBI crime scene technician, on Hannibal (2013), and reprised Buddy Cole and the troupe's other characters when The Kids in the Hall was revived for a new series in 2022. He has also appeared in The Larry Sanders Show and other television comedies and dramas.
