Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a Tony Award-winning actor known for playing Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy (2005), one of the longest-running characters on the show and one of the most prominent bisexual Latina characters in US network television history. Callie's coming-out arc, bisexual relationships, and eventual wedding to Arizona Robbins were landmark moments for LGBTQ+ representation in primetime drama. Ramirez came out publicly as bisexual in a 2016 GLAAD Media Awards speech, and in 2021 came out as nonbinary and adopted they/them pronouns. They joined And Just Like That (2021), the Sex and the City revival, as Che Diaz -- a rare instance of an openly nonbinary actor playing an explicitly nonbinary character in a mainstream production. Ramirez is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in healthcare and media.
