Sara Gilbert

Sara Gilbert is an actress and television executive known for playing Darlene Conner — one of TV's most iconic deadpan teenagers — on Roseanne (ABC, 1988–1997) and its sequel The Conners (2018–). She came out publicly in 2010, and in 2014 married singer-songwriter and producer Linda Perry, best known for writing Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." They have a son together, born in 2015. Gilbert also co-created and co-hosted The Talk (CBS, 2010–2023), a daytime talk show that gave mainstream audiences a platform for LGBTQ+ topics across its thirteen-year run. She has credited her coming out with a profound personal liberation, saying that the years she spent keeping her private life separate from her public persona took a real toll.
