Ryan Murphy

Ryan Murphy is one of the most powerful openly gay showrunners in Hollywood history, responsible for an extraordinary volume of culturally impactful television. His credits include Nip/Tuck (FX, 2003–2010), Glee (Fox, 2009–2015), American Horror Story (FX, 2011–), American Crime Story (FX, 2016–), Scream Queens, Feud (FX, 2017–), Hollywood (Netflix, 2020), and Pose (FX, 2018–2021) — the latter a landmark drama set in the New York ballroom scene of the late 1980s and early '90s, featuring the largest cast of transgender actors in TV history. Murphy has made the hiring and amplification of LGBTQ+ talent — particularly trans women and people of color — an explicit production practice. In 2018 he signed a record-breaking $300 million overall deal with Netflix. He is married to photographer David Miller and has three children.
