Robin Lord Taylor

Robin Lord Taylor is an openly gay American actor, a Northwestern University theater graduate, known for The Penguin / Oswald Cobblepot on Gotham (2014) and Will Bettelheim on Netflix's You (2019), a villainous role he brought enormous humanity and complexity to across five seasons on Gotham. He built an early career in off-Broadway and regional theater, earning particular praise in 2005 for playing a gay hustler in the off-Broadway premiere of The Shooting Stage, and later starred off-Broadway as Tennessee Williams in Kowalski. He married actor and production designer Richard "Dickey" DiBella in 2011, shortly after Iowa legalized same-sex marriage, following nearly eight years together, and publicly identified as gay in an April 2015 appearance on the Nerdist Podcast. He has spoken about the progress in Hollywood toward accepting openly gay actors in traditionally straight-coded roles.
