Reid Ewing is an American actor known for playing Dylan Marshall -- Haley Dunphy's lovable, dim-witted boyfriend and eventual husband -- on Modern Family (2009). He came out as gay in 2016 in a Hollywood Reporter interview, also speaking candidly about his experience with body dysmorphia and addiction to plastic surgery, a disclosure that brought significant attention to the mental health dimensions of body image in the entertainment industry. Following Modern Family's end in 2020, Ewing largely stepped back from acting, citing experiences of sexual harassment in the industry, and appeared in the short films Always Come In Second (2021) and Nest (2022) with director Todd Lien before pursuing an associate's degree. Ewing has been an open presence in LGBTQ+ spaces since his coming out.
