Queen Latifah (Dana Owens) is an American rapper, actress, and producer who is one of the most successful entertainers of the past three decades -- known for Chicago (2002), Bringing Down the House (2003), Hairspray (2007), and The Equalizer (2021). She had been widely understood within LGBTQ+ communities to be lesbian for many years, having met choreographer Eboni Nichols in 2009 on the set of Dancing with the Stars and made their relationship official in 2013. She came out publicly while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 BET Awards, saying simply, "Eboni, my love. Rebel, my love. Peace. Happy Pride!" -- the first time she had named her partner publicly. The couple's son, Rebel, was born in 2019 via IVF.
