Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris is a Tony Award-winning actor and entertainer best known as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother and as the teenage title character of Doogie Howser, M.D. He came out as gay in November 2006 in a People magazine statement, prompted by tabloid speculation. Harris married actor David Burtka — his partner since 2004 — in 2014, and the couple have twins via surrogate born in 2010. He has hosted the Tony Awards four times and won the Tony for Best Actor in a Musical for Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2014), a role about a transgender rock musician. Harris is widely regarded as one of the most prominent gay men in mainstream American entertainment.
