Murray Bartlett is an Australian actor trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art who began his career on Australian soaps including Home and Away and Neighbours before moving to the United States in 2000, where he took steady work on American soap operas All My Children (2002) and Guiding Light (2007). He is known for playing Dom Basaluzzo on Looking (2014), the drama about gay men in San Francisco, and for reprising Michael "Mouse" Tolliver in Netflix's 2019 revival of Tales of the City. He reached a new level of international recognition playing Armond, the dissolving resort manager, in The White Lotus (2021) -- a performance widely praised as one of the best of that year and recognized with an Emmy nomination. He has been openly gay throughout his career and has spoken about the importance of authentic gay male stories on prestige television.
