Michael J. Willett

Michael J. Willett is an openly gay American actor and singer known for playing Lionel on United States of Tara (2009), Tanner in G.B.F. (2013), a satirical teen comedy about the social currency of a gay best friend, and for his recurring role as Liam on Faking It (2014). He also had guest roles on Joan of Arcadia, Without a Trace, and Cougar Town. Alongside acting, Willett has pursued a music career, releasing original singles including "In Love Alone" and "Burning Desire" (2013) and "Started Over" (2014), and has described songwriting as his primary means of self-expression. He has spoken about the importance of playing gay characters as a gay actor and has been involved in LGBTQ+ advocacy.
