Max Jenkins

Max Jenkins is an openly gay American actor and writer, born and raised in New York City, who broke out with a scene-stealing turn opposite Helene Yorke in the 2013 webisode "Olivia" for HBO's High Maintenance. He went on to play Max Carnegie in The Mysteries of Laura (2014), Christopher Doyle in Dead to Me (2019), and roles in Special (2019), Life & Beth (2022), and Dead Boy Detectives (2024). In New York theater, he co-wrote and starred in Unnatural Acts at Classic Stage Company, which received three 2012 Drama Desk Award nominations including Outstanding Play. Jenkins has spoken about the specific, nervous texture of gay experience he draws on in his comedic work, and has been open about his identity throughout his career.
