Magda Szubanski

Magda Szubanski is an Australian actress and comedian best known as Sharon Strzelecki in Kath & Kim (ABC Australia/NBC) and for Babe (1995). She came out as lesbian in a 2012 interview on Australian breakfast television, becoming one of the most beloved Australian public figures to come out. She was a vocal and prominent campaigner in Australia's 2017 marriage equality postal survey, delivering an emotional speech about what equality meant to her. Her memoir Reckoning (2015) discussed her identity, her Polish Catholic heritage, and her father's complicated history during World War II.
