Linda Hunt

Linda Hunt is an American actress who made her film debut in Popeye (1980) and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for The Year of Living Dangerously (1982) -- the first actor to win an Oscar for playing a character of the opposite sex. She went on to appear in Dune (1984), Silverado (1985), and Kindergarten Cop (1990), and is known to television audiences for NCIS: Los Angeles (2009), in which she played Operations Manager Hetty Lange for fourteen seasons. She has been in a relationship with her partner Karen Kline since 1987, and the couple married in 2008. Hunt has been quietly out for many years, though she rarely makes her personal life the subject of public discussion.
