Leslie Jordan

Leslie Jordan was an American actor, comedian, and writer beloved for his high, Southern-tinged voice and endlessly warm presence. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for Will & Grace in 2006, playing the hilariously vain, poorly-closeted Beverley Leslie, a role he returned to in the show's 2017 revival. He also had recurring roles across the American Horror Story anthology series (2013), as Lonnie Garr on Hearts Afire (1993), and as Phil on Call Me Kat (2021). He became a viral sensation during the COVID-19 pandemic with his Instagram videos from isolation, gaining millions of followers in days. Jordan was openly gay throughout his career and wrote frankly about his struggles with addiction and his faith in his memoir My Trip Down the Pink Carpet (2008). He died in a car accident in Los Angeles in October 2022, at age 67.
