Leisha Hailey

Leisha Hailey is an American actress and musician best known for playing Alice Pieszecki -- the lovable, gossipy, endlessly social bisexual/lesbian character -- in The L Word (2004) and its revival The L Word: Generation Q (2019). She was a member of the pop duo Uh Huh Her with musician Camila Grey, her then-girlfriend. Hailey has been openly lesbian throughout her career and has been a consistent presence in LGBTQ+ entertainment. In 2011, she and Grey were removed from a Southwest Airlines flight after a flight attendant objected to them kissing; the couple disputed the airline's characterization of the kiss as excessive, and the incident became a minor civil rights flashpoint around LGBTQ+ public affection.
