Lee Pace

Lee Pace is an American actor known for Pushing Daisies (2007, Emmy and Golden Globe nominations), The Hobbit trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Halt and Catch Fire (2014, Critics' Choice Television Award), and Foundation (2021). He made his Broadway debut in Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart (2011), winning a Drama Desk Award, and later appeared in Broadway revivals of Angels in America (2018), playing the closeted Mormon lawyer Joe Pitt. He came out as gay in a 2018 profile, acknowledging his identity after years of being private about his personal life. Pace has spoken about the experience of being a gay man playing primarily heterosexual characters in major productions and about the gradual shift in Hollywood toward greater openness. He confirmed in 2022 that he had married his longtime partner, Matthew Foley, a fashion executive at Thom Browne whom he met through a mutual friend.
