Katrina Del Mar

Katrina del Mar is an American queer filmmaker and photographer known for her punk-inflected "Girl Gang Trilogy" -- Gang Girls 2000 (1999), Surf Gang (2005), and Hell on Wheels: Gang Girls Forever (2010) -- roughly 30-minute exploitation-style films about fictional all-female gangs that explore female desire, violence, and liberation outside the conventions of mainstream lesbian cinema. The trilogy has screened internationally at festivals across Europe and Australia. Her other work includes the lesbian vampire film A Beautiful Death (2006) and the experimental web series delMarvelous (2014). Del Mar's work occupies a space between experimental film, exploitation homage, and political art, and has been shown at queer film festivals internationally.
