Joseph "Joe" Gramm is a gay American retired actor who began a relationship with actor Ron Palillo in 1971, while both were working in theater and television in New York. The two remained partners for 41 years, eventually settling together in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where Palillo also taught drama, until Palillo's death from a heart attack in August 2012. Gramm was never widely known for his own acting work, but his four-decade partnership with Palillo -- acknowledged openly in interviews and obituaries despite never being the subject of a formal public announcement -- has been documented by LGBTQ+ historians as an example of a long, stable same-sex relationship sustained through decades in which neither man was able to be fully open about it publicly.
