Jim Parsons is a four-time Emmy Award-winning and Golden Globe-winning actor best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory (2007). In 2012, a New York Times profile saw him quietly confirm a decade-long relationship -- without naming his partner, producer Todd Spiewak -- a disclosure he later said reflected his own comfort with his identity rather than a dramatic coming out. The two had met on a blind date in 2002 and married in May 2017 at a ceremony in New York. Parsons received a Tony nomination for The Normal Heart (2011) and reprised the role in the acclaimed HBO film adaptation (2014), playing a gay man during the AIDS crisis. He also starred in Hollywood (2020) and has been a generous advocate for LGBTQ+ causes; he and Spiewak co-own the production company That's Wonderful Productions.
