GGuillermo Díaz is a gay Cuban-American actor known for playing morally complex characters across film and television. Raised in Washington Heights by Cuban immigrant parents, he has spoken about how, growing up, he learned to hide his sexuality as a survival strategy — a skill he later credited with shaping his craft as an actor. Díaz first drew wide attention in the stoner comedy Half Baked (1998) and went on to appear in Party Monster (2003), I Love You Phillip Morris (2009), and A Little Bit of Heaven (2011), as well as the drama series Weeds (2005). His best-known role came as Huck, a traumatized CIA-trained assassin, on Scandal (2012) — one of the most compelling and violent characters on the series. Named to Out magazine's Out100 list of influential LGBTQ+ people, Díaz has been an outspoken advocate for greater visibility of gay Latino men in Hollywood, describing his openness as an act that took considerable courage and reshaped how he moves through the industry.
