Gal Uchovsky is a gay Israeli screenwriter, producer, journalist, and television personality, born in Hadera in 1958. He has been the personal and creative partner of director Eytan Fox since 1988, co-producing Fox's Yossi & Jagger (2002), writing and producing Walk on Water (2004), and co-creating The Bubble (2006), for which he won the Best Screenwriter award at the Durban International Film Festival. Beyond film, Uchovsky has been a fixture of Israeli television since the 1990s, hosting the talk show Lila Rock (1993) and the cultural program HaMaagal HaKatan ("The Small Circle") and serving for several years on the judging panel of the Israeli singing competition Kokhav Nolad. He is a co-founder and former president of Israel Gay Youth (IGY), an organization supporting LGBTQ+ teenagers, and has been an active presence at Tel Aviv Pride. Uchovsky's decades-long collaboration with Fox has helped define queer Israeli cinema's place on the world stage.
