David Yost is an American actor known for playing Billy Cranston, the Blue Ranger, in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993). He left the series during its fourth season and revealed years later that his departure was driven by relentless on-set harassment related to his perceived sexuality, including being called homophobic slurs by members of the production crew. He subsequently underwent conversion therapy for two years, an experience he has described as deeply damaging, and was later hospitalized following a nervous breakdown before eventually accepting his sexuality. He came out as gay publicly in 2010 in an interview with No Pink Spandex, detailing the harassment and its lasting psychological effects, and has since become a vocal advocate against conversion therapy and for LGBTQ+ youth.
