Danny Pintauro

Danny Pintauro is an American actor best known as Jonathan Bower, the precocious child on Who's the Boss? (1984). In 1997, the National Enquirer tabloid outed him as gay, an intrusion he later spoke openly about navigating in an industry that had made little space for openly gay actors. In 2015, he publicly disclosed that he was HIV-positive, having contracted the virus in 2003 and kept his status private for over a decade; he also disclosed a past addiction to methamphetamine. Pintauro married his husband, Wil Tabares, in 2014 and became an outspoken advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness, treatment, and destigmatization. He returned to acting in 2022 after several years working outside the industry.
