Daniel Franzese

Daniel Franzese is an American actor and comedian best known for playing Damian, the sardonic, fashion-obsessed gay best friend, in Mean Girls (2004), whose line "She doesn't even go here" became one of the most quoted in the film. In 2014, he came out as gay in an open letter to his own character, drawing a direct line between his years of hiding and Damian's own closeted status in the film. The following year he joined the second season of Looking (2014) as Eddie, an HIV-positive character, and became an outspoken HIV/AIDS awareness advocate, serving as an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and Lambda Legal. Franzese has continued to perform stand-up and sketch comedy for queer audiences and remains a warm, engaged voice on LGBTQ+ visibility, often speaking directly with fans about Damian's enduring legacy.
