Colton Haynes

Colton Haynes is an American actor known for playing Jackson Whittemore on Teen Wolf (2011) — a character who returned in the show's final season as one half of a gay couple — and Roy Harper on Arrow (2012). He came out as gay in a 2016 Entertainment Weekly interview after years of tabloid speculation, saying that living in the closet had made him miserable and describing the anxiety and depression that came with maintaining a false public persona. He married celebrity florist Jeff Leatham in 2017, and their divorce was finalized in 2019. His 2022 memoir Miss Memory Lane recounted with unusual frankness his hardscrabble childhood, his experiences of exploitation in Hollywood, and his struggles with sobriety, mental health, and body image. Haynes has become an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ youth who feel trapped in the closet — particularly those from conservative communities without visible role models.
