Chris Salvatore is an openly gay American actor, singer, and activist known for playing Zack in the Eating Out series of LGBTQ+ romantic comedies, including Eating Out: All You Can Eat (2009), Eating Out: Drama Camp (2011), and Eating Out: The Open Weekend (2011). He gained worldwide attention in 2017 when he moved in with his 89-year-old neighbor, Norma Cook, to care for her in her final months after her leukemia diagnosis, raising more than $50,000 for her home care — a story that went viral globally and one he connected explicitly to his experience of chosen family as a gay man. Salvatore has supported anti-bullying and LGBTQ+ equality causes, recording messages for the It Gets Better Project and supporting the Gay American Heroes Foundation, and he continues to combine acting and music with advocacy.
