Chris Salvatore is an openly gay American actor, singer, and activist known for Eating Out: Drama Camp (2011) and other entries in the Eating Out LGBTQ+ romantic comedy franchise. He gained widespread recognition in 2017 when he moved in with his 89-year-old neighbor Norma Cook to help care for her in her final months β a story that went viral globally and illustrated his values of community and chosen family, which he has connected explicitly to his experience as a gay man. He has been open about his HIV-positive status and advocates for HIV awareness and destigmatization.
