Blu del Barrio

Blu del Barrio is an American actor who is openly nonbinary and transgender, using they/them pronouns, and is best known for portraying Adira Tal on Star Trek: Discovery (2020), the franchise's first nonbinary character and a milestone in LGBTQ+ representation. Born in 1997 and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, they began acting in theater and short films as a child before making their television debut on Star Trek: Discovery, where their performance was praised for its emotional depth and authenticity. Their screen work also includes roles in the short film "I'm in Love with Edgar Allan Poe" (2024), the feature The Listener (2022), and voice performances in The Owl House (2022) and the video game Starfield (2023).
