Ben Platt

Ben Platt is a gay American actor and singer who publicly came out in 2019, having known he was gay from the age of twelve. He won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for originating the title role in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway (2016) — a musical about loneliness and connection that resonated profoundly with LGBTQ+ youth — and later reprised the role in Dear Evan Hansen (2021). He earned Tony and Grammy nominations for his lead performance in the Broadway revival of Parade (2023), playing Leo Frank. On screen he has appeared in Pitch Perfect (2012) and Theater Camp (2023), the latter co-written with and co-starring his husband Noah Galvin, himself openly gay. He also created and starred in the series The Politician (2019). Platt and Noah Galvin's 2024 marriage has made them one of the most visible gay couples in American entertainment.
