Anne Heche

Anne Heche was an American actress known for Donnie Brasco (1997), Wag the Dog (1997), Six Days Seven Nights (1998), the Gus Van Sant remake Psycho (1998), and the soap opera Another World (1964), for which she won a Daytime Emmy. From 1997 to 2000 she was in a high-profile relationship with comedian Ellen DeGeneres, becoming one of the most visible same-sex couples in the world at the time — and subsequently facing what she described as significant professional backlash in Hollywood. Heche later described her sexuality as fluid, resisting the gay or straight binary in interviews and in her memoir Call Me Crazy (2001). She died in August 2022 following a car accident in Los Angeles.
