Alana Mayo

Alana Mayo is a Black queer American film producer and studio executive, a 2006 graduate of Columbia University, who began her career as an assistant to producer Andrew Lazar before rising to creative executive at Mad Chance Productions, working on Get Smart (2008) and I Love You Phillip Morris (2009). She later served as Vice President of Production at Paramount Pictures, where she worked on Fences (2016), and headed production and development at Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society. In 2020, she was named President of MGM's Orion Pictures, a label focused on underrepresented voices, overseeing releases including Till (2022) and American Fiction (2023). Mayo was married to writer-producer Lena Waithe from 2019 to 2020.
